Local Attractions

Winter has arrived in Vermont. To assist you in making the most out of you next trip, we have gathered information about some fantastic events happening in the area over the next couple of months. Did you know that there is a winter carnival in Brattleboro? Please visit our calendar of local events and list of 2009/ 2010 winter activities.

There is never an excuse to be bored on a trip to Windham Hill. Historical attractions include Hildene, the home of Abraham Lincoln’s descendants and of course the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park.

Museums in the area range from the Williams College Museum of art to the American Museum of Fly Fishing and the Vermont Raptor Center where you can see owls, hawks, falcons and eagles.

For those wanting outdoor adventure we have the Bromley Thrill Zone nearby as well as the drama of the drive to the summit of Mount Equinox or the gondola rides to the top of Stratton Mountain.

For in-depth information on local activities in the Manchester and Stratton area we recommend visiting the Manchester and Mountains Chamber of Commerce website. A local area guide, that we often share with our guests is the Stratton Magazine, a regional lifestyle magazine that has been celebrating Southern Vermont for 45 years.
