Luxurious Southern Vermont Inn

Welcome to southern Vermont bed and breakfast world of the Windham Hill Inn. We hope we can give you a flavor of what it's like to visit our very special home here in West Townshend in the heart of Southern Vermont. We invite you to explore over 150 pages and 300+ photographs accessible through our website. Most Windham Hill guests journey here looking for retreat - a quiet and natural setting in which to relax and unwind - a place to find quiet time alone, to rekindle the intimacy of a relationship, or to make new memories of joyful times spent with friends and family. What you discover here is a peaceful country house with spotless rooms, an elegant-yet-approachable cuisine, a "comfortable" dress code, books and puzzles, and music in many forms.

During your stay you are pampered by a caring staff and by innkeepers eager to share the pleasures of their Green Mountain home. Once settled in you can choose to do nothing at all, but you'll find the alternatives are tempting. In the spring, summer or fall hike the Inn's 4 mile network of trails through 160 acres of pine and maple forest and rock-wall edged meadows covered with wild flowers. In two nearby state parks you can hike along a rushing white water river (picnic on the sun-lit rocks midstream), or climb to a scenic mountain vista. Enjoy a swim in our brick-terraced heated pool or a game of tennis on our native Vermont clay court, both overlooking spectacular views down the valley. Golf, biking and horseback riding are all available nearby. In winter we have many winter activities options, including 10 kilometers of groomed cross country ski trails here at the inn or sample the conditions at any of five nearby cross country touring centers.

Downhill skiing at Stratton, Mount Snow or Bromley is just 25 minutes away. You may also choose to experience an adrenaline rush on our toboggan, skate under the lights on our pond or snowshoe through endless untracked wilderness out our back door. All guest rooms come with private baths, most with queen or king size beds, many with fireplaces, private porches, window seats or jacuzzis, all with great views.

Rooms are furnished with antiques and/or fine furniture made by local craftspeople. All rooms have telephones, comfortable seating and are well-lighted for reading. Both the main house and White Barn are centrally air conditioned. Rates range from $215 to $465 per night plus tax, double occupancy, and include a full breakfast. Various seasonal packages are available.
